Why I built RankRoadie

Nobody needs another list of 40 warnings. RankRoadie produces a prioritised, presentation-ready SEO and AEO audit you can act on.

By Adam Clarke

SEO audits tend to come in two flavours. There is the agency report: thorough, genuinely useful, £2,000 or more, and two weeks away. Then there is the free tool that returns forty warnings in thirty seconds with no sense of which three actually matter.

Neither helps when you are sitting in front of a client, or looking at your own site, and need to answer one question: what do we fix first?

Built for the person presenting it

RankRoadie is aimed at marketers who want their website to perform and need to explain why. It separates technical issues, recommendations and strategy rather than mixing them into one long list, and it produces a report you can download, edit and put in front of someone without reformatting it first.

That last part sounds cosmetic. It is not. A huge amount of agency time goes into turning tool output into something a client can read. If the tool produces the presentable version, that time goes back into doing the work.

Answer engines changed the brief

The other reason I built it now: search is no longer only search. Content is increasingly being read, summarised and quoted by answer engines, which rewards clear structure, credible sourcing and specific answers. RankRoadie looks at AEO alongside traditional SEO because auditing one without the other is already out of date.

Honest about what it is

It is designed to prioritise and to help you act faster. It cannot promise rankings, and I would not trust anything that did. What it can do is stop you spending a fortnight waiting for a document to tell you what a morning of focused work could have fixed.
